I doubt it as I am pretty sure the Chinese version was sold as a seperate product.
The normal style to check would be to look in the control panel language settings and run into if you can enable English.

Try
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language settings, (the globe icon) look for english language
or correct click on the windows taskbar goto Toolbars > Enable Language Bar

hi guys,
I tried the regional options manner. I can see English in that. But even after selecting that, its yet in Chinese. Except for a few things its all in Chinese. I would want to change the entire thing to English instead of Chinese.
Some one please assistance me out

oh there is no other pick? the sorry matter is that I dont accept the CD that came with the laptop to reinstall the Bone again. I think I will b in trouble. Can someone help me out

Well this is probably the best time to get round to purchasing one, prices these days for windows xp are non to bad, you tin selection 1 up relatively cheaply, you will find that eventually y'all will crave a windows xp deejay anyway, so may likewise get it sorted at present, endeavor looking on ebay or amazon for the best prices

The problem you have is that MS released a seperate Chines edition of XP which appears to be what yous accept installed, as information technology is a different version to the i shipped elsewhere information technology can only be used in Chinese.
If y'all desire to utilise English (or another supported language), you volition need to purchase a new copy of Windows XP and ensure that information technology is the English edition (as most copies may just be Chinese in your region).

Merely a quick question - tin can yous install the XP multi User interface Pack?
If I remember rightly this does all languages and allows you to change all Winodws menus aid etc to different languages. I know that it will change from English to Chinese but I am not 100% certain it will do it the other way.

As Nick said you volition not be able to modify everything to english language because it is a Chinese edition of XP this limits what regional settings can be changed and why simply parts appear in english and other things similar menus will stay in chinese, get hold of a english edition of windows xp install that and problem solved

Sadly, from experience, your only solution is to buy an English language copy of XP.
Or,
Give Microsoft a call and see if your current licence will work on a UK copy.
Utilize a UK disc and blam, no need to spend extra.
typically, your licence wont take to a UK re-create :(

hi guys,
thanks a lot for all the replies and advices. then i guess i demand to install XP again correct. but the 1 I have is an OEM version and I dont take the CD. Then if i purcahse a fresh CD of XP, I will be able to install without whatsoever trouble correct.
